The head shrine of some 2,300 Sumiyoshi shrines nationwide. Its ancient nail-free 'Sumiyoshi-zukuri' main hall (a national treasure) and the steep arched Sorihashi (Taikobashi) are symbols. The most sacred space in Osaka, the pinnacle of the pilgrimage.
